1 Inseam
A type of glove seaming in which all the raw edges are turned to the inside. -
2 Oxford
A dark grey mixture yarn for knitting. In the knit underwear trade this term also refers to the length of the leg or inseam of the drawers, averaging four inches shorter than ankle length, and is designed to come exactly to the top of a man's sock. ———————— In Germany and Austria, Oxfords are woven with two picks in a shed instead of two ends in a heald as is done in England. -
3 Half Pique
A type of seaming for gloves where the inside finger seams have both raw edges turned inside, while the back finger seams have the forchette raw edges inside and the finger back raw edges outside. Thus the palm is like inseam and the back like full pique. -
4 Prix Seam
A type of glove seaming in which all the raw edges of the trunk and the forchettes are turned to the outside. This is just the reverse of inseam. Also known as P.R.X. or P.X.M.
